Do you ever get an idea in your head and think this is either going to work really well or be a total failure?
Well that is essentially the cookies you are looking at today.
Remember the fabulous Chocolate Peanut Butter Day celebration back in March? Sure you do, I made these awesome Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cups. Anyhoo, during my brainstorming sessions on what to make, somewhere in my warped mind I had decided that chocolate sandwich cookies with a raw, egg-less peanut butter cookie dough filling would be really awesome.
I shoved it away for a rainy day or special occasion, whichever came first. Seeing that yesterday was the 3 year celebration of this little blog here that special occasion came first.
Guys. These cookies. These cookies are sick but sick in a give me a tall glass of milk, bourbon on the rocks, coffee with cream and sugar because I’m going to eat them all kind of sick. Sick as in I live in Brooklyn and sometimes we use it to define something as “crazy, cool, insane” or at least that’s what Urban Dictionary tells me because I don’t really talk like that. 🙂
These are the be all to end all cookies. These are the cookies for every chocolate and peanut butter lover out there. These are the cookies for the people who like to eat the cookie dough.
If I could ship raw dough – even the egg-free kind, you’d be getting these cookies in my bake shop.
These are the cookies that are perfect to kick-off the next year of blog life.
It’s hard to believe that 3 years have passed by. Yeah, everyone says that during their blog anniversary but seriously how did we get from 2011 to 2014 so quickly?
Looking back at my archives it’s amazing to see how I’ve evolved. For the first six months most of my posts talk about kitchen renovations and what I had my CSA share for that week. Who wants to read about that? What was I thinking?
Yet eventually I found my voice, my passion and my calling and you’ve come back each day which helps keep me going.
I’ve had so many amazing opportunities come my way in the last 3 years and met and made the most wonderful friends. The food blogging community is full of passionate and talented people and I’m proud to be a part of that.
Did I think three years ago at this time I’d be launching a bakery and making giant steps towards my future? Most definitely not but I’m excited and ready.
Of course despite being an anniversary celebration we still need a kickstarter update! We had a great weekend breaking the $5K mark! It’s just a short ride to the finish line from here with 16 days left to go. Doesn’t mean it’s time to rest, let’s keep sharing and pledging if you can! Plus you never know, I might figure out a way to add a cookie similar to this one to the store. 🙂
