Let’s get ready for warmer temperatures, pool parties and all around merriment with a tall glass of Pineapple Dark and Stormy.
Congratulations, you made it to Friday yet again! You deserve a cocktail and an introduction to my new weekly series Friday Happy Hour.
Appropriate don’t you think? When I still worked “the day job”, I was always way to exhausted at the end of the week to think about going out on a Friday evening but I still wanted to relax with an adult beverage in hand. Now if you feel the same way I used to, you can do the same except make that cocktail at home with a new recipe every week.
Friday Happy Hour will be our little place to shoot the breeze, talk about fun things, life, new shows on Netflix. You know basically the everyday going ons of your average 30-something year old city dweller. Sometimes it’ll be exciting, sometimes not.
We can start this weeks chatter off with small news I never had a chance to announce back in March, you are looking at the new boozy desserts and cocktails fanatic over at Food Fanatic. If you aren’t familiar with Food Fanatic you should be. It’s an amazing recipe source for everything you can dream of, copycat recipes, breakfast, easy dinners, citrus lovers, sweets, chocolate. You name it, they probably have a fanatic for it and I’m so proud to be one of them. If you don’t catch one of my recipes here, you are likely to catch it over there.
While it might seem early in the year still to think about a tropical cocktail recipe like Pineapple Dark and Stormy, I think any time of year is appropriate. You want a drink that can transport you to another place, take you away from stressors in life – even if it’s just for the short time that you are enjoying it.
Well I think I’ve rambled on long enough this week but next week I’ll be back with more – a recap to my trip to New Orleans plus something fun to celebrate the Derby over the weekend!
Until then, get everything you need for your Pineapple Dark and Stormy tonight, cheers and happy weekend!
