Add some color, sparkle and fizz to your next cocktail party with this simple to make Pomegranate Gin Fizz. Perfect for a night at home or for a big group!
Can you believe the year has almost come to an end and 2015 will be here in a matter of days?
There are many things I’m grateful for and proud that I’ve accomplished this year but I’m going to save that list for another day.
For today, we are talking to talk about how to celebrate those big accomplishments we all had throughout the year and the little ones too. Those are just as important to recognize as the big ones and deserve a raised glass, a clink and a cheer.
Do you do a big blow out party each year for New Year’s or just spend the evening in with a few friends and family?
Me? I like to spend it with a small group of friends – the husband works each year so our celebration ends up at 2 in the morning ( no joke) over a drink at a bar – it’s the one night a year I stay up way past my bedtime.
Last year we spent it with Billy Joel and oh a few other thousand people but cocktails and nibbles were at my place first. What was on that list was a pomegranate cocktail, as I think it’s perfect, pretty and festive for the New Year. Plus pomegranate seeds represent fruitfulness, learning, knowledge and wisdom. If you ask me, it’s a great way to kick off the next year.
This drink comes together in a matter of minutes and with only a few ingredients. Make it for the two of you staying in for the night or a giant pitcher for a group. I promise everyone will love it.
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon confectioners sugar
- 1 1/2 ounces gin
- 6 ounces sparkling pomegranate orange juice (such as San Pellegrino)
- fresh pomegranate arils
- ice
Instructions
- In a collins glass stir the confections sugar with the gin until it dissolves. Fill the glass with ice and pour in the sparkling pomegranate organic juice. Top with pomegranate arils.
- Makes 1 cocktail.
I’ve never had a gin fizz. I shall remedy that by making this one. It looks delish and I love pom juice! Pinning

I love how easy this sounds. Sometimes I see cocktail recipes and think “who has time for all that for a drink”. The color is so “wow”. Great job.
I will raise my glass to that – cheers and happy new year! I have to make these soon, they look fantastic (love the color, too).
I love how easy this is and love it more because I have everything in the house to make it. Happy New Year to me!
Cheers!
We are all a little obsessed with pomegranates. This looks wonderful!
This is SO perfect for the season!!!
I HAVE to make this at New Year’s! Not only do I love pomegranates, but I have really come to appreciate the taste of gin over the past couple of years.
I’ve got 3 big juicy ruby pomegranates here. What a great seasonal way to ring in the new year. Cheers!
What a festive cocktail. That color is gorgeous! Love that it’s made with gin. I’ll bet this cocktail smells just like Christmas!
Okay! Now that sounds good. Sparkling pomegranate orange juice even sounds good all by itself! But … bring on the gin. My name isn’t Ginny for nothing. 🙂
Ginny! You are too funny! Love this comment. 🙂
This sounds like the perfect cocktail for New Year’s Eve!
What a lovely cocktail it looks just perfect and I absolutely would enjoy one right now. Yes, this very second…
We spend New Years Eve at home and alternate between either Dungeness Crab or Raclette. Happy New Year to you, Susan.
Girl I would so love to have one or more of those right about NOW.
My dad would love these! It’s his kind of drink!
This is totally the type of cocktail I would enjoy on NYE. So fizzy and delicious!
Love Pomegranates!
We usually spend the night at home with family. These drinks look like the perfect addition to our evening!
