Spiked Peach and Melon Punch from The Girl In The Little Red Kitchen

Despite growing up on Long Island, I have always been a city girl through and through. I loved going into Manhattan when I was little, either to see a Broadway show, to a museum or just to spend the day at work with my dad.  By the time I was a teen, my mind had been made up that I would spend my adulthood in the city.  There’s just something about that skyline that brings a smile upon my face.  We have everything we need within our city limits, parks, beaches, lakes (maybe not the kind you want to swim in) and, for the lucky few, their own backyard.  Everything you could want or need to soak up those last bits of summer.  I’m thrilled to be working with Barefoot Refresh to bring you one of those things you need (a refreshing drink) to help cheer up those end of summer blues.

Since it’s absolutely still burning up outside, it’s Spritzer Season in my mind and the perfect opportunity to sip on some Barefoot Refresh.  Light bodied, vibrant and great over ice – they come in 5 different blends, so you know there’s one for everyone!

Now what happens when one of your closet friends invites you out to who knows where New Jersey to see her new place for an end of summer bash? You grab your other city loving friends, get in a car, drive so far out to where the deer appear in the daytime and prepare a summer fun punch for the crowd to enjoy while you kick back and relax in the country air.  Welcome to my weekend adventure! Hilarity ensued; Google maps messed with us; and when we nearly made it to our destination, an old fashioned Fudge and Chocolate Shop magically appeared {not magic, it was there and not much keeps me from spotting a chocolate shop}.

Since I can never turn up to someone’s house empty handed, I had a feeling this Peach and Melon Punch would be the perfect addition to the party.  Normally, I’m the bringer of desserts but my friend always makes too much food and I knew that would not be necessary this time around.

With us relaxing outside in their massive backyard under a canopy of trees, it was an optimal setting to sip this spiked punch with peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, mint, Barefoot Refresh Summer Red Spritzer and a numbered cup liqueur that gives it a little spice and extra kick.

The fruit and the Summer Red Spritzer are perfect for hot end of summer days and those cooler nights.  This punch is perfect to sip on over ice with all your favorite barbecue foods and it’s great for a big crowd!  Plus I love that extra bit of fizz you get.

This spiked punch would have been perfect for today considering it’s still 90 degrees outside! Great way to squeeze in one last hurrah of summer before the weather decides to cool down.
