Ring in the new year with this easy and festive 3 ingredient St. Germain and Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail.
This is it. The final countdown. The end of year, only 4 days left in 2016 and I think most of us would like to say goodbye to this year and ready to start fresh in 2017.
Before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, let’s take a look back on our year. We brought 80 new recipes your way this year, some of your favorites including Sriracha Hummus Wings, Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad and Beer Caramel Pretzel Bark (for the full top ten countdown check it out over on Instagram). Back in April we gave this place a long overdue facelift, plus rebranded our bake shop to its own home. This years deliciously inspiring food trip was to London, where I came back bringing you more Pimm’s cocktails than you though you ever needed or wanted in a year. I fried things and I made tall tall cakes and finally I’m left here with our final recipe of the year to mark it #81.
However you may feel about the year, if you ask me, there’s still only one proper way to end it. With a glass of bubbly in your hand. Even as a little kid, I had something sparkling in my glass at midnight. Of course back then it was just ginger ale versus champagne but it’s never truly been New Years Even without raising a glass of something special.
Whether you’re hosting yourself, having a quiet night in or off to a party this St. Germain and Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail should join alongside with you. Three simple ingredients makes your evening just a little more special and you’ll hardly miss a beat in the party while you mix them together. The combination of pomegranate syrup and elderflower make for a slightly sweet, floral and tart cocktail that play off beautifully with a brut or extra dry champagne. Also don’t feel like you need to purchase an extensive bottle, a nice bottle of prosecco (just make sure it isn’t sweet) will do the trick as well).
Until next year my friends, I raise my glass and clink clink!
