Cranberry Whiskey Sour

Celebrate the holidays with a drink that’s fruity, festive and fizzy.  Add Cranberry Whiskey Sour to your end of the year celebrations.

Cranberry Whiskey Sour from The Girl In The Little Red Kitchen

I seriously can’t believe we are almost at the end of the year.  I was just talking to a friend and telling them that it doesn’t really feel like the holiday season yet or even that the year is necessarily winding down.  I’m sure that feeling will change in an instant when the weather switches from these mild Autumn temps to frigid days and more holiday decorations pop up all over the place.

For now though, I’m going to keep on trucking along doing my daily thing over here.  Cranking out recipes, taking photos, mixing cocktail and baking up batches of cookies.  You will never, ever catch me saying a bad word about my job.

While the days pass and we do get closer to the end of the year, I do think back and reflect on the change and what I’m thankful for this year past year.  I made a huge leap and a huge change by leaving my safety net of a full time job and seeing what the future holds.  That same friend asked why I didn’t celebrate my change earlier this year and I don’t really know why, I sort of transitioned by as if it wasn’t a big deal.  You know what? Following your dreams and passion is a big deal an it’s something to be grateful and thankful for!

As such, with Thanksgiving right around the corner (a holiday that typically gets me thinking about what to be grateful for over the last year), I’m raising a glass to say cheers!

A very pretty, colorful, and fizzy glass that is!

My holiday motto this year has been that the holidays are tough enough, we seem to put undue stress on ourselves, so let’s just make it a little bit easier.  This cocktail, totally does that trick with a little help from Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Their Hard Cranberry Lemonade just screams out holiday season to me and it’s perfect for right now.  The Hard Cranberry Lemonade is a little tart and a little sweet and it says mix me into a whiskey sour!  Normally, I top my whiskey sours with some club soda for fizz and so this time it gets replaced with Mike’s!

Not only do you get the cranberry flavor plus some extra sour but you get that pretty stunning hue! Garnished with a touch of rosemary and it immediately puts you into a wintery wonderland spirit.

Make a small batch for a relaxing evening or mix up a giant pitcher of sour mix, plus a 6-pack of Mike’s Hard Cranberry Lemonade and you are all set to celebrate the holidays with friends.

“I sort of transitioned by as if it wasn’t a big deal.” <- That was exactly how I felt when I quit my job and moved! Logically I know it's a huge deal to be where I am today, but I guess because it feels so natural, it doesn't feel like a special occasion. Cheers to us and following our dreams! Love this cranberry whiskey sour. I'll have to pick up some Mike's and make it soon.
