A little sweet, a little tart, a little fruity and a lot of fun, Bourbon Peach Lemonade Smash is the perfect drink to bid farewell to the summer with.
Are my eyes deceiving me? Is it almost already Labor Day? I swear the summer just started and now we are at the point of saying goodbye to warm weather, beach days and backyard bbqs.
Oh, I know I complained half the summer about the heat and humidity and it really isn’t my favorite season but there are always things that I’ll miss. For example, long sunny days, admiring the pretty gardens and flowers, late night walks when the weather cools down, impromptu picnics & bbqs and of course summer produce.
Summer isn’t totally over yet though and so there’s still time for one last hurrah with friends, family and plenty of good food and drink at hand. Growing up our Labor Day celebrations were never really complete without a big family backyard bbq.
These days busy schedules and distance keeps us apart from those big celebrations we used to have but I’m all for small gatherings with friends in the park or crammed into our tiny apartments. So how about we get busy planning the perfect Labor Day weekend party?
The food part is pretty easy – just load up on all your summer time favorites, sweet corn, juicy tomatoes and enough hamburgers and hot dogs to feed an army.
Next up the drinks. My choice? A pack of Mike’s Hard Lemonade to share with the crowd. Mike’s has a new Flavors of America variety pack in store and there’s a little something for everyone; including their original Hard Lemonade, Hard Black Cherry, Mike’s Smashed Apple Ale and my new favorite their Hard Peach Lemonade.
The Hard Peach Lemonade is the perfect base for this Bourbon Peach Lemonade Smash, a mix of sweet, tart and fruity flavors to sip alongside your bbq feast! It’s also the best way to take advantage of the last of summer peaches by smashing them with a few sprigs of mint, a touch of bourbon and the fizz from the Hard Peach Lemonade.
