For the ultimate cookies and cream sweet treat, break out your favorite chocolate chip cookies and some vanilla ice cream for this Chocolate Chip Cookie Milkshake.
I am the worst type of snacker out there. Some people go for the savory, some for the sweet. I go for both, at any time of day. It’s good and bad when you think about it, snacks in general are delicious but they are a downfall to my waistline.
I can’t help it – the crispy salty crunch of chips pull me in every time (don’t get me started on a bag of fritos, it’s like a magnetic force) and then there’s chocolate. Everyone needs a little bit of chocolate everyday.
Oops. . . did I just admit that out loud? Yeah, fine, I like to have just a smidge of chocolate or something sweet every day. Sometimes fruit does the trick, sometimes not. . .
Of course it doesn’t help my snacking habit that I bake up dozens of cookies every single week. Even when those orders go right out to people there’s usually one or two leftover, sometimes more. . . What’s a baker to do? Can’t let them go to waste now. 🙂 Yet when I suddenly found myself with a few too many chocolate chip cookies sitting around, I decided on a new solution.
Ice cream meet your friend the chocolate chip cookie.
Sure an easy ice cream sandwich could have been made but what I was feeling was a milkshake. It’s hot and I wanted to slurp my dessert in this ultra decadent version of cookies and creme. Just a few ingredients transformed into one awesome milkshake, so the next time you baked up a few extra cookie (or you know decided to order a batch, ahem coughcoughcough) save some for this fun shake.
Ingredients
- 3 chocolate chip cookies
- 4 scoops high quality vanilla ice cream
- 3 tablespoons milk
- For garnish: Whipped cream, butterscotch or caramel sauce and a cherry to top
Instructions
- Place the cookies, ice cream and milk in the bowl of your blender. Puree until the cookies are crushed and the ice cream is combined.
- Drizzle some butterscotch or caramel sauce on the inside of a milkshake glass and then divide the shake between 2 glasses. Top with some homemade whip cream and another drizzle of butterscotch sauce.
- Serve immediately.

I am the same way…I love sweet and savory snacking (preferably a bite of one and then the other). These photos are so beautiful, and I’d say this is the perfect way to use extra chocolate chip cookies!
I love this recipe….it has been so hot here I am sure this would cool off everyone in our family!
Yep, this is pretty much my dream dessert. Cookies and ice cream. What else could a girl need? Other than fritos, of course. Seriously, what is it about them??
WOW! This sounds amazing…I’m an all day snacker myself. In other words I would like one of these all day long!
I am the same way! If I start salty, then I have to end with sweet, and vice versa. I’d love one of these milkshakes with a few Fritos to chase it down.
Oh I totally feel you–for me, it’s sweets…at least it encourages me to practice baking, lol!
This milkshake sounds amazing too!
I’ll join your salty-sweet club too! Love salty chips but can’t resist a delicious and sweet treat – like this milkshake! YUM!
Oh holy wow does that look good. Like I want to dive right into it. Good grief.
Not eating chocolate every day is akin to not drinking water or breathing every day. A day without a little dessert is a sad one. And this milkshake looks perfect! I need to make room in the freezer so I can finally make or buy some ice cream. 🙂
What a great way to use some of your cookies. Very smart!
Girl, that is one over the top milkshake!
I totally alternate sweet and savory snacking as well! That milkshake is pure decadence!
Oh my goodness, this milkshake. I couldn’t exercise any self-control around it!
Okay when I come visit you are making this for me & we can just hang out at your place. screw seeing the sights, this is better.
And then I drooled all over my computer screen…. This is hands down a chocoately sin!! I love it!
