Recipes Inspired by Music #SundaySupper Preview

“Movin’ to the country I’m gonna eat a lot of peaches. . .”

Music and Food.  They go together like peas and carrots, peanut butter and jelly , hmm. . .peanut butter and chocolate?  Well, I’m not really sure what they go together with, but I can tell you they belong together.

Sunday Supper Movement

Take 30 seconds and name me a song that has food in the title or in the lyrics.  I bet you came up with something in less than 30 seconds.  A musician will never turn down a free meal, I know, I used to be one.  Therefore, it makes sense that musicians will eventually write about food.  You have heard the term starving musician correct?

“Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,

door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles…”

This week #SundaySupper is creating recipes inspired by music.  As I mentioned above, I used to be a musician.  I started piano at 6, played orchestral percussion through high school and received my degree in mallet percussion.  Oh and I know you guys know I’m married to a musician.  Recipes Inspired by Music is the perfect theme for this recovering musician and I hope you enjoy what is to come on Sunday.  I know I’m looking forward to it!

“If I had a million dollars, we wouldn’t have to eat Kraft dinner…”

Lol, I love how you named the different sections for this week. Awesome! I didn’t know you had such an illustrious musical background, Susan! This makes you even more kick ass in my eyes. I played the trumpet for about three years and was always involved in music and dance in high school. My dream job is being on Broadway (too bad I totally lack the talent!). Sometimes I want to join a choir so that I can recreate my glory days as a performer, but there’s just no darn time. I can’t wait for this week’s #SS. It’s gonna be so much fun!
