Get Some Pecan Butterscotch Blondies for Muffin {Blogger Bake Sale}

 Today we are going to talk about Muffin, the most sweet-faced dog I’ve seen in a long (besides my own pup of course).  Muffin has been through a lot – her previous owners abused her, threw a chemical substance on her face, and starved the poor pup.  Lucky for Muffin she was rescued by the fabulous organization Response-a-Bull.   Muffin has a long recovery ahead of her.

Muffin

It takes a very special person to bring an injured animal into their home. That special person is Kita from Pass the Sushi.  She looked passed the injuries and saw the heart and beauty of Muffin, saw the sweet demeanor lurking beneath the shyness she was exhibiting at first and brought her home.   Muffin will have months and months of doctors appoints, rehab and medicines to take before getting back to her former beautiful self.

Pecan Butterscotch Blondies with Sea Salt That’s where we come in today. Kita reached out to the food blog community asking us to participate  in a bake sale to help cover Muffin’s medical cost.  I joined in without blinking.  I am a dog lover, my sweet pugling in snoring next to me as I type this.  I can’t look at another dog on the street without saying hello, and I get angry when I see a dog tied up outside (especially in this heat).  So you can imagine how upset I was when I heard about Muffin.

For today only, July 17th – you can go to Pass the Sushi and bid on fabulous baked goods including my Pecan Butterscotch Blondies with Sea Salt (click the link for the recipe!).  Bidding goes from 8am to 8pm EST and starts at $15.  All you need to do is e-mail.  Kita.  All proceeds go to Muffin.  Don’t feel like bidding on a baked good but want to support Muffin or other animals? You can donate directly to Response-a-Bull

    Kita is incredible for taking sweet Muffin in. The poor thing – how can anyone abuse a defenseless animal? It’s appalling! I’m definitely going over to Pass the Sushi to help pitch in for Muffin’s recovery. I’m not surprised at all that you’re a part of this amazing event, Susan. Now that I’m a dog owner, I feel the exact same as you. Thinking about my Abby or any pet suffering makes me sick to my stomach.
